
Service Restart
The server was suffering from a chronic shortage of memory so I took the opportunity to perform security updates on the server. The service was running since March and so hasn’t performed too badly. Hope to upgrade to new hardware soon which means increased memory allowance.
Service upgrades, Saturday 5th March
I will be upgrading some back-end services on Sat 5th March from about 10am. This will impact the Jabber service. Upgrading to ejabberd 2.1
Having tested Ejabberd 2.1 I expect to be migrating over to this at some point in the near future. Stability issues & upgrades
Service stability: I’ve been having some issues with the stability of the server, this seems to be down to the connection between ejabberd and the database server (were user accounts are kept). Jabber Server down
The Jabber server was down for a prolonged period due to the daemon crashing. This wasn’t caught and restarted automatically and I was absent from the internet until just now. It is up once again and I’ll be trying to make sure such a thing is caught next time.
