I’ve been planning an upgrade to the server. It is currently running an old version of ejabberd and I’ve been wanting to upgrade to allow for a number of reasons such as better security and improved connection for people using mobile devices

I had been looking at upgrading ejabberd but it is probably more likely that I’ll be upgrading to Prosody. It’s not set in stone yet as I’ve still got plenty more testing to do but Prosody seems to be more lightweight and have more plugin options. There will also be an upgrade to the WordPress theme to make it seem a bit more modern (suggestions welcome) and a re-write of the account registration & management system.
